Here is the app disrupting the way we do our laundry and dry cleaning. Laundrie is Dublin’s premium app-based service that provides collection and delivery directly from your home or office.

Laundrie is Dublin’s premium app-based service that provides collection and delivery directly from your home or office.

These days, business professionals are finding it harder than ever to make it to their local dry cleaners. The app which was founded in July, has a network of drivers positioned across Dublin who collect dirty clothes at your door, drive them to verified cleaning partners, and bring them back to you within a 48-hour period. An average order consists of a 2-piece suit, 5 shirts and a “wash and fold” bag.

This convenient app allows you to book an order for collection at the home or office and operates from 10am in the morning to 10pm at night. Laundrie hand-selects which local facilities to partner with in order to guarantee the same quality on every order. On-going testing is conducted to ensure clothes are brought back cleaned, pressed and smelling fresh.

Popular items include suits, shirts, dresses, skirts and bags of laundry. Recently, there has been huge demand for duvets and pillows. Laundrie will let you choose whether your clothes is brought back folded or pressed on a hangar.

Laundrie’s founder Evan Gray, is a Dublin native who was working in corporate finance when he realised busy professionals had problems taking their clothes to local high-street dry cleaners before or after work. Gray knew there could be a better, more convenient dry cleaning and laundry service. This idea eventually turned into Laundrie.

Since launch, over 2,000 people have used the service and roughly 90 per cent end up using the service more than once. Gray says that returning customers typically place orders every 21 days.

The start-up is currently available on the App Store. While progress is being made to release the Android app and desktop ordering platform later this year.

Gray said that orders have been doubling in recent months and hopes to see Laundrie in a few more European cities in coming years. Although, exact locations have not yet been chosen.
